The Hospital and Outreach Education Parent, Teachers and Friends Association has launched a new fundraising campaign to build a “Wellbeing Garden” at the Delapre Learning Centre in Northampton. The garden will provide a much-needed sanctuary for young people in Northamptonshire who are unable to attend mainstream school due to serious mental and physical health challenges.
The campaign, hosted on JustGiving, aims to transform the current concrete and fenced outdoor space into a vibrant and welcoming garden. The new garden will feature plants and color, creating a safe and calming environment where students can connect with nature, exercise, and develop socially and emotionally.
“We believe that every young person deserves a space where they can feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn and grow,” says the campaign’s JustGiving page. “The Wellbeing Garden will be more than just a garden; it will be a place of healing, a place of connection, and a place of hope for some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.”
A promotional video has been released to support the campaign and showcase the vision for the new garden. The video features interviews with staff and students, who share their personal stories and explain why the Wellbeing Garden is so important to them. The video can be viewed here.
The Hospital and Outreach Education Parent, Teachers and Friends Association is calling on the local community to support this important project. Donations can be made through the campaign’s JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/delapre-wellbeing-garden.
